There are conversations that stay with you long after the microphone turns off.
Being invited to share my story on The Healing You Method Podcast was one of those moments for me. I felt honored, tender, a little nervous, and deeply grateful all at once. Any time someone creates space for your story, real space, the kind where you don’t have to polish the edges or rush past the hard parts, it feels sacred.
That’s what my conversation with Gloria Lybecker felt like.
It wasn’t just an interview. It was a chance to pause, look back, and speak honestly about healing, intuition, and the quiet wisdom that lives in the body. It reminded me how much our stories matter, not because they’re perfect, but because they show the path we walked to come back to ourselves.

Honoring the Invitation to Share
When Gloria invited me to be a guest on the podcast, I felt that sweet mix of excitement and humility.
Sharing your healing journey out loud is different from carrying it privately. There’s an exposure to it. You’re naming things that once lived only in the body, in memory, or in quiet conversations with trusted people. You’re letting your story breathe in a wider room.
I don’t take that lightly.
Part of me felt honored simply because The Healing You Method Podcast holds space for conversations that matter. Healing can be such a personal word. For some people, it brings to mind therapy, energy work, breathwork, bodywork, prayer, time in nature, grief work, or learning to feel safe again. For others, it’s more subtle. It’s the slow return of self-trust. It’s finally hearing the inner voice that got drowned out by survival, pressure, pain, or fear.
To be invited into a conversation centered on that kind of healing felt meaningful.
I also felt grateful for the chance to share my story in a way that wasn’t rushed. Gloria has a gentle way of asking questions that invites honesty. She listens with her whole presence. And when someone listens that way, something inside you softens. You remember details you didn’t expect to remember. You connect dots you hadn’t fully seen before.
That’s exactly what happened for me.
As we talked, I found myself reflecting not only on what I’ve moved through but on who I became along the way. Healing has shaped the way I listen, the way I trust, and the way I move through the world. It has taught me that the body is never just a body, and intuition is never just a random feeling. There is wisdom in us, and it often speaks long before the mind is ready to understand.
Healing Isn’t Always Linear, and That’s Okay
One of the biggest themes that came through in the episode was the idea that healing doesn’t usually happen in a neat, straight line. It is usually messy and filled with all the emotions, not just the "ah-ha moment."
I wish it did. I wish we could say, “I had the realization, I did the work, and now I’m done.” But most of us know that’s not how it feels. It feels messy and emotional.
Healing often comes in layers. Sometimes we revisit something we thought we had already healed. Sometimes the mind says, “I’m fine,” while the body is still bracing. Sometimes rest brings up what busyness helped us avoid. Sometimes a small moment, a scent, a phrase, a tone of voice, or a sudden wave of emotion shows us there’s still tenderness asking for attention.
That doesn’t mean we’ve failed. It means we’re human.
During my conversation with Gloria, I felt how important it is to normalize that. Healing isn’t a race, and it’s not a performance. It’s not about proving how evolved, calm, or “over it” we are. It’s about being in an honest relationship with ourselves.
That might look like:
Noticing when your body tightens instead of pushing through it.
Giving yourself permission to rest before you hit a wall.
Choosing support instead of carrying everything alone.
Letting grief move instead of explaining it away.
Honoring the practices that actually help, even if they look different from someone else’s.
There’s real freedom in realizing we don’t have to heal according to anyone else’s timeline.
And there’s also relief in remembering that healing can be ordinary. It can happen during a walk, in a quiet breath, in a boundary, in a good cry, or in a moment of laughter after a long season of heaviness. It can happen when we finally tell the truth to ourselves.
This conversation gave me another chance to remember that healing is not about becoming someone new. It’s about returning to the parts of ourselves that had to go quiet in order to survive.

Intuition as a Quiet but Powerful Guide
Another theme that kept rising to the surface was intuition.
I’ve come to understand intuition as more than a gut feeling, though it can absolutely show up that way. Sometimes it’s a soft knowing. Sometimes it’s a clear no. Sometimes it’s a pull toward something that makes no logical sense yet. Sometimes it’s the sensation of expansion or contraction in the body.
The tricky part is that many of us were taught to override it.
We learned to be polite instead of honest. We learned to explain away discomfort. We learned to value outside approval more than inner knowing. We learned to ask everyone else what they thought before asking ourselves what felt true.
So healing often includes rebuilding that connection.
In my own journey, intuition has been a steady teacher. Not loud. Not forceful. More like a candle in a dark room. It doesn’t grab you by the shoulders. It simply keeps glowing.
Talking with Gloria helped me appreciate how much intuition has guided the turning points in my life. There were moments when I didn’t have the full map, but I had a sense of the next step. There were times when my mind wanted certainty, but my body knew what felt aligned. There were times when intuition asked me to slow down, listen more deeply, or choose a path that required courage.
That kind of listening takes practice. It also takes compassion, because self-trust may not come easily if it was interrupted along the way.
A few questions can help bring us back into that inner conversation:
What does my body feel when I say yes to this?
What part of me is speaking right now, fear, habit, hope, or truth?
If I didn’t need to justify my answer, what would I choose?
Where do I feel open, and where do I feel closed?
What am I pretending not to know?
Those aren’t always easy questions. But they’re honest ones. And honesty is often where the healing starts.
Listening to the Whole Being Changes Everything
One of the ideas I loved exploring in this episode was the importance of listening to your whole being, not just the mind.
The mind is brilliant. It helps us plan, name, analyze, remember, and decide. But it’s not the only place where wisdom lives.
The body holds information. The heart holds information. The nervous system tells a story. Emotions speak. Dreams, sensations, energy, and intuition can all offer clues. When we only listen to the mind, we might miss what the rest of us is trying to say.
I’ve learned this lesson again and again.
There have been times when my thoughts made a strong case for pushing forward, but my body was exhausted. Times when something looked right on paper, but my heart felt heavy. Times when I tried to reason my way through something that actually needed gentleness, grounding, or support.
Listening to your whole being means paying attention to the full conversation happening inside you.
That might mean noticing a tight jaw or shallow breath. It might mean honoring tears that arrive without a clear reason. It might mean trusting the calm you feel around certain people, places, or practices. It might mean recognizing that rest is not a reward. It’s a need.
This is where healing becomes deeply personal.
No single modality is right for everyone. What helps one person feel safe and connected might not resonate for another. Some people find their way through somatic work. Some through talk therapy. Some through meditation, spiritual practice, energy healing, sound, movement, journaling, bodywork, time in nature, or creative expression.
The invitation is to stay curious.
Not every tool will be your tool. Not every teacher will be your teacher. Not every method will meet your system in the way it needs to be met. And that’s okay.
The beautiful part is that your body often knows when something resonates. There’s a softening. A breath. A sense of recognition. Maybe even a feeling of, “Oh, I can be with myself here.”
That’s worth listening to.

The Power of Being Witnessed
One of the gifts I took from my conversation with Gloria was the reminder that being witnessed is powerful.
There’s something profoundly healing about having someone listen without trying to fix, rush, judge, or reshape your story. A good witness doesn’t take over the room. They hold it with you.
Gloria did that so beautifully.
Her questions invited reflection, but her presence invited truth. That combination matters. It created room for the conversation to move beneath surface details and into the meaning behind them.
I left the episode feeling grateful not only for what I got to share but for what I got to see more clearly because of the sharing.
Sometimes we don’t fully understand our own path until we speak it out loud to someone who can hold it with care. We hear the courage in it. We hear the tenderness. We notice the moments where grace carried us. We see the choices we made from a place of deep inner strength, even if we didn’t recognize them that way at the time.
That was one of my biggest takeaways.
Healing isn’t always about finding a brand-new answer. Sometimes it’s about recognizing the wisdom that was already there.
It’s also about honoring how far we’ve come. Many of us are so focused on what still needs attention that we forget to acknowledge what has already shifted. The boundaries we can now name. The body signals we no longer ignore. The patterns we can see sooner. The softness we can offer ourselves in places where we once only knew criticism.
My conversation with Gloria helped me pause and appreciate that.
And honestly, that pause felt like medicine.
Finding the Modalities That Resonate with You
If there’s one thing I hope people take from the episode, it’s this: your healing journey gets to be yours.
There’s no need to force yourself into a practice just because it works for someone else. There’s no medal for doing healing the “right” way. What matters is finding what helps you feel more present, more connected, and more at home in yourself.
For one season, journaling might be the thing that helps you hear your inner voice. In another season, you might need movement, breath, therapy, quiet, community, prayer, or hands-on support. What resonated five years ago may not be what your body needs today.
That doesn’t mean you’re inconsistent. It means you’re listening.
Here are a few gentle ways to explore what fits:
Start with what feels safe enough, not what seems impressive.
Notice how you feel during and after a practice.
Give yourself permission to stop if something feels wrong for your system.
Seek qualified support when you’re working with trauma, grief, or mental health concerns.
Let curiosity lead instead of pressure.
A quick note, because this matters: this kind of reflection is personal and informational. It’s not medical or mental health advice. If you’re in a hard place, please reach out to a licensed professional or trusted support person. You don’t have to navigate it alone.
The path can be tender, but it can also be deeply beautiful. There is something powerful about realizing you can build a relationship with yourself that feels kind, honest, and steady.
You can learn the language of your own body.
You can trust your inner knowing again.
You can choose practices that honor your whole being.
You can keep becoming more fully yourself.
